Autodesk® Inventor® 2026: Introduction for Experienced 3D CAD Users provides an accelerated introduction to the Autodesk Inventor software. This content is designed for users who have experience in 3D modeling using other CAD software packages such as CATIA, Pro/ENGINEER®, Creo Parametric, NX™, or SolidWorks®. By using common modeling strategies, it aims to leverage your existing 3D modeling skills and facilitate a smooth transition to designing with Inventor.

The content includes hands-on practices to help you become familiar with Inventor's modeling tools. You will learn how to create models starting from conceptual sketches, progressing through solid modeling and assembly design, and culminating in the creation of detailed drawings.

Topics Covered in Chapters 1 to 10 (Part 1)
• The Autodesk Inventor software interface
• Obtaining model information
• Creating sketch and pick and place features
• Work features
• Creating equations and working with parameters
• Model geometry and model display manipulation
• Feature duplication techniques

Topics Covered in Chapters 11 to 20 (Part 2)
• Placing and constraining parts in assemblies
• Assembly component display
• Assembly tools
• Creating parts and features in assemblies
• Creating and editing an assembly bill of materials
• Working with projects
• Creating and annotating drawings and views
• Creating presentation files (exploded views) (in optional appendix)

Prerequisites
• Access to the 2026.0 version of the software, to ensure compatibility with this guide. Future software updates that are released by Autodesk may include changes that are not reflected in this guide. The practices and files included with this guide are not compatible with prior versions (e.g., 2025).
• Prior knowledge of 3D modeling and 3D CAD software. Users with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Mechanical experience are highly recommended to use the Autodesk Inventor 2026: Introduction to Solid Modeling guide.
Course material includes access to practice files.

Printed guides are coil bound and printed in black and white with images in grayscale.
